The Director creates and promotes a motivational team environment, driving a high level of success, and serves as a resource, coach and trainer to staff. Qualifications: 3-5 years of sales management experience, with demonstrated success in sales management, leadership and training in a results-oriented sales environment Working knowledge of sales strategies and processes 3 years of proven success in sales required, with a significant portion of the experience preferably in telephone sales 1-2 years event planning experience Proven success in operating to a budget Band, choir, or orchestra experience is a plus Travel industry or K-12 Educational experience is a plus 4-yr degree or equivalent is required Must have proven ability to hire, train, empower, motivate, and create a positive work environment Travel Required 15% Effective oral and written communication skills are required, including through use of the phone Must be able to travel and drive an automobile. Able to input data into a computer. Heavy lifting required while attending conventions. Ability to visually proof documents Essential Functions: Responsible for the hiring, training and mentoring of team members. Competitive situation strategy and management, including specific training Resource person for members of the team and staff in other departments Serve as a conduit for business communication Work collaboratively with the other sales directors to set sales goals for team and monitor and manage the compensation structure Monitor individual performance and provide ongoing feedback Study trends in the industry to avoid problems and capitalize on opportunities Provide status reports as requested by management Manage and participate in public relations efforts
